Resident Programs

The Madisonville Housing Authority not only wishes to provide welcoming communities and homes, but also a supportive network to assist families in realizing great successes. Assistance is available to assist residents in achieving home ownership and in obtaining training or employment.  Referrals will be provided to area service providers as needed.  All activities are open to new participants unless otherwise noted.  Please contact the office for more information.

The following programs are currently being offered, but the MHA strives to improve programming and expand as necessary to address any unmet need.

Programming for All Ages

Youth Programming

The MHA maintains open communication with the local school system to address needs that limit a child’s ability to excel in school.  An After School tutorial program is available from 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm at the Family Investment Center (234 Pride Avenue) for children in and around the housing authority apartments.    The center offers school age children homework assistance in an environment with positive role models. The Family Investment center is equipped with computers and educational software in which students are welcome to utilize during the After School Program.

Adult Programming

Individuals needing assistance with employment, educational, medical or other barriers to reach goals, assistance is available in the form of service referral and linking. Please contact the office for information.

Job Training/Placement Opportunity

Job Net has a job placement opportunity for individuals ages 55 - 60 years old.  Individuals will be placed in paid positions in the community.  Income earned while enrolled in this program is not counted by the Housing Authority in household income.  Contact Sam Huskey for additional information.
